Hello and welcome to the UWA Blackstone Society! My name is Cameron Barnes and I am the President of the Blackstone Society, the law students’ society of UWA.

I can guarantee you that your adventure as a law student at UWA will be all the more rewarding by engaging with the Blackstone Society. It is through Blackstone’s activities that you will make friendships, attain practical legal experience, build networks with legal employers, learn about ways to strengthen your academic performance and have ridiculous amounts of fun.

This year, Blackstone will be highly active, inclusive and community minded. The equity portfolio will be expanded and our careers initiatives will emphasise the importance of using your law degree to improve society. Of course, Blackstone also puts the fun in your law degree- with regular social events which are the envy of other faculty societies.

As your humble servant, I am here for you through thick and thin. You are always welcome to hang out in your Blackstone Society common room on the ground floor of the courtyard. I am always looking to rope someone in for a foosball game or a good chat…
