Welcome to week 11!
Thanks to all of you who joined us at the Ashurst Dinner Debate on Friday night, It was a great evening full of frivolity and laughter. Congrats to Emma Greeney, Baz Iyer and Andrea Bradley for representing the students so successfully against the evergreen professionals’ team. I just hope that you can all still get jobs. A big shout out also goes to the Rubin Trehan and the entire Education Sub-Committee for putting on the event, these things don’t just happen overnight.
It’s grand finals week! Come on down to the Clayton Utz Trial Advocacy and Corrs Chambers Westgarth Client Interview grand finals to witness the law school’s greatest battle it out. Congratulations to the formidable Callum Davidson, Jeremy Rich, Sam Pack and Gemma Little for making it to the end of the road in Trial Ad! As for the law school’s best client interviews, a shout out to grand finalists Leslie Gabriel, Guru Kugunanthan, Philip Harris and Melanie Teh. The times and locations of the finals can be found below. I strongly recommend anyone thinking about participating in these competitions for future years to come down and see what it takes.
You might have noticed there is a new Blackstone facebook page. We’ll be using this to keep you up to date about what’s going on around the Courtyard. Throw it a like to keep up with our events and initiatives from now on. We’ll be maintaining the group, but it will be more of an informal discussion board. As always, we’re keen to get your feedback on everything we do, so please don’t hesitate to fill in our anonymous feedback form.
As always, if you have any questions for myself or just have general ideas about the society, please flick me an email (president@blackstone.asn.au).
Cheers
Mitch
