Hey everyone and welcome to week 9!
In case you haven’t noticed facebook recently, Guild Elections are on this week. You have been warned! If you are so inclined, head down to the booths and cast your vote. If you’re like me, avoid the Oak Lawn and Reid Library at all costs.
Flowing on from that is the much more important announcements that nominations will soon be open for the 2014 Blackstone Committee. See below for the important dates! Besides just adding another line to your CV, being a part of the Blackstone committee is a great opportunity to get involved in law school, meet a whole range of new people, and develop a wide range of skills. I can honestly look back on my time with Blackstone as the best years of my life. I strongly recommend everyone consider running for a position. If you are, or maybe just want some more information, please feel free to contact any of the members of the executive (numbers/email on website) for a chat. I am also happy to talk to any person about any position on Blackstone!
Good luck to everyone waiting for a phone call on Wednesday for Clerkship Offers. Make sure your alarm is set and phone is charged! But most importantly, make sure you keep the day in perspective. Regardless of the result remember that there are always other potentially more rewarding options out there – Blackstone, the Faculty and the Law Society of WA are all able to point you in the right direction.!
Finally, make sure you get down to Tri-Law Footy + Social on Thursday evening and support the UWA team as they take on Murdoch and ND in footy. The after party is set to be a good night and I hope to see you all down there!
As always, if you have any questions just give us a bell.
