Careers Fair

The 2010 Perth Law Careers Fair (PLCF) will be held on Friday 5 March 2010 in the QV1 Lobby (corner of St Georges Tce and Milligan St, Perth).

The 2010 PLCF will commence at 11 am and conclude at 3 pm.

The PLCF is a joint initiative of the Law Students’ Societies of the University of Western Australia, the University of Notre Dame, Murdoch University and Edith Cowan University.

The primary aim of the PLCF is to provide Western Australian law students with an invaluable opportunity to meet, speak with and gather information and literature from possible future employers. The PLCF also allows employers the chance to promote and advertise their firm or organisation to a large number of students. In this way the event has proved to be a beneficial and rewarding experience for employers and students alike.  Along with maintaining the integral core career areas that have aided in the fair attaining its reputation as a ‘must attend’ event for law students, the 2010 PLCF additionally aims to incorporate a broader range of alternative careers pathways so as to appeal to a wider range of law students than ever before.

Originally called the ‘Tri-Law Careers Fair’, the first PLCF was held in 2003 and attracted approximately 500 students. Following that initial success the PLCF has moved from strength to strength. The 2009 PLCF drew together more than 1000 students.

The 2010 PLCF will be the eighth annual Careers Fair.  The fair will once again be covered by LexisNexis’ ‘Lawyer2B’ magazine.  In 2010, it will also be publicised in Graduate Careers Australia’s inaugural publication of ‘Graduate Opportunities in Law and the Legal System’.
