Grace Vaughn Award 2011

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is now accepting applications for the Grace Vaughan Award – 2011.

The Award is offered annually, to commemorate the work of Grace Vaughan – teacher, social worker and parliamentarian – in the area of social justice and human rights.  The award aims to:

  • support activities characteristic of Grace’s own determination in qualifying herself to serve others; and
  • provide benefits for those who share her concern for social justice and human rights.

Value

The award is valued at $2,500.

Eligibility

The following are eligible to apply for the Award:

  • individuals wishing to pursue studies in the area of social justice and human rights at the University of Western Australia;
  • individuals with a demonstrated scholarly or professional concern for social justice and human rights wishing to travel in Australia or overseas for further studies likely to be of benefit to the community; and
  • individuals, practitioners and/or early career professionals with a demonstrated commitment in a particular field of social justice and human rights wishing to pursue studies or activities for the purpose of their professional development.

Applicants are requested to submit the following documents:

  • Application Form
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Names and contact details of two referees
  • Detailed description of proposed use of the Award (250-500 words)
  • Other supporting documentation (optional)
