Hi Everyone!
As the Blackstone Society’s Equity Vice-President for 2013, I would like to welcome you to the UWA Law School and the Blackstone Society!
My role is to ensure that you are effectively represented and have access to the opportunities that are available within the Law School. We are committed to providing all law students the opportunity, no matter what their background is, to get involved in the Blackstone Society. We believe that diversity is critical in ensuring that the Blackstone Society not only fulfills its function of being a society for all law students but also creates a society which is innovative and exceptional. We stand against all forms of discrimination and would like to foster a culture of respect and appreciation of equity and diversity within the Law School.
We also believe in raising awareness of social justice issues and encouraging law students to contribute to the wider community. We highly encourage you to get involved in the 2013 Equity and Diversity programme by participating in Blackstone Volunteering, the Women in Law Mentoring Scheme or one of our many other opportunities detailed in this section!
