QUESTIONS

I'm interesting in finding out more about a position, what should I do?

WHO MAY VOTE IN THIS ELECTION?

  • As per the Election Regulations, students currently enrolled in the Juris Doctor or LLB programmes are available to vote for all Elected Office Bearer positions, except for the Pre-Law Vice-President. Students currently enrolled in the Law in Society or Business Law majors, or are current holders of an Assured Entry Pathway into the Juris Doctor are eligible to vote for the Pre-Law Vice-President and no other position.

  • Please note that voters will be required to verify their identity through the provision of their campus card, and additionally, in the case of a student voting for the Pre-Law Vice-President, to verify their enrolment through StudentConnect.

  • All elected positions, with the exception of the Pre-Law Vice-President, will be decided by electronic voting.

The position I wanted to run for does not appear in the list above?

  • A number of the positions on Blackstone are appointed, not elected. Further details on these positions will be released after the election. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to the current President regarding these positions.

I'm not currently in Perth and am therefore unable to nominate in person, what should i do?

  • There is no way to nominate digitally. The Returning Officer's suggestion is to fill out the form, scan it, and send it to friends/colleagues in Perth who can act as your nominator and seconder and can hand it in on your behalf. Further, make sure you nominate a proxy in accordance with the Blackstone Election Regulations to confirm your nomination at the Blackstone AGM.
